University of Otago on Campus Experience

Congratulations to Jaylon Paki (Otumoetai College Head Student), he was successful in applying for the University of Otago On Campus Experience (OCE) 2020 programme.

The OCE is a programme that enables a group of Year 13 Māori students to travel to the University of Otago to experience what it is like to live and learn in Dunedin.

All successful applicants were selected based on their all-round academic ability, their attitude to learning, a character reference from the school, and an essay highlighting their involvement in their school and Māori community, as well as their aspirations to attend the University of Otago.

Senior Food Technology Creations

"With senior Food Technology students unable to complete their usual product development work or carry out their trialling and testing at home, I thought I would encourage students to spend some time away from their screens and devices and practice some of their skills.

They are working towards a weekly brief - last week the theme was Rainbow!  We wanted to brighten up your day so here is just a small selection of things being made at home in lockdown for sibling and parent birthdays, dinner, weekly 'lockdown pancake friday' and all sorts of family and whanau events.

Loving the enthusiasm and teamwork coming from our Senior Food Technology students while working with their siblings. What a great way to pass the time and help out at home!" - Lauren May.
