Stay Safe this Summer! Tips from SADD

Now that exams have finished, many young people are learning to drive, cruising around, and preparing for summer road trips. With extra traffic it's important to take care on the roads and make sure your car is roadworthy! Here are a few tips from SADD to make sure you and your family stay safe.

  • Give your vehicle a TWIRL and check you have a current WOF
  • Make it click! Always wear your seatbelt
  • Stay at safe speeds on the road appropriate for the driving conditions
  • Take regular breaks on long distance trips
  • Drive drink and drug-free
  • Avoid distractions!

If you're keen to get out and about in your community, how about joining your local Police on an alcohol checkpoint.

International Christmas Lunch

Last Friday our Juniors had a Christmas lunch to celebrate the end of year. This was a chance for some of the students to talk with students they would not normally speak to.

They enjoyed some delicious pizza with a few lollies and Christmas crackers thrown in. It was a really nice time and the students were awesome! Thank you everyone who helped :)

Junior Boys North Island Beach Volleyball Win

Ashton Gordon and Jacksyn Smith stayed on from the indoor champs to play in the North Island Secondary Schools Beach Volleyball champs at Mairangi Bay.

These boys have had an outstanding beach season thus far and continued that through this tournament. In the horrible weather the boys played extremely well to win the Junior Boys North Island Beach Volleyball Title.

Congratulations to Jacksyn Smith and Ashton Gordon, Junior Boys North Island Beach Volleyball Winners.
